Viscomat
The viscosity of the ink is crucial for printing. With the open system, the printing process had to be stopped every 30-40 minutes to dilute the ink again. With the pot system, this takes much longer, but the thinner evaporates through the movement of the pot on the cliché. To keep the viscosity under control, microPrint has developed the Viscomat. It measures the viscosity in the ink pot and adds thinner as needed.
The Viscomat displays the viscosity values on the touch screen where they can also be changed. On another touch screen page, the past viscosity history can be viewed as a bar chart, if desired. This is very helpful when pressure problems have to be found.
The Viscomat has two other big advantages:
Through constant stirring (inks are tixotropic) and keeping the viscosity constant, the pot life of 2-component inks can be extended to 8-12 hours. There are colours whose pigments can sink in the colour pot (e.g. gold and silver colours). The Viscomat prevents this and guarantees uniform mixing of the ink throughout the entire printing process.
The Viscomat measures the viscosity of the ink in the pot and automatically adds thinner to the ink as needed. In this way, the viscosity of the ink can be kept stable and errors in printing can be avoided.
